Based in St Albans, C&S Dumpleton Ltd has been a family-run building company for five generations.

We are immensely proud of our long and strong tradition of quality building, restoration and refurbishing, extensions and conversions since our founding in 1900.

C&S Dumpleton Ltd offers the full range of building services (link to services page), both commercial and domestic, done to high quality at fair and competitive rates, carrying out works from £150 to £200,000, subject to usual terms in various applications.

Among our many quality services, we maintain a full residential joinery workshop to provide you the best in bespoke joinery. Should you require services related to the building industry not specifically listed on our site, we probably provide them. If not, we can make arrangements for you - please contact us to talk about your requirements.

Restorations

Restorations require a high level of understanding of the original structure and materials, and top flight knowledge of how to make renovations for which the home or other structure was not originally designed, preserving or complementing the original period, as desired. A sampling:

Restored Kingsbury Mill an historic watermill in St Albans originally built in Early 1700's. This project received the Heritage Year Award from the Civic Trust in 1975. Dumpletons work involved the restoration and conversion to a museum of Kingsbury Mill.

We have carried out works on listed buildings and other stately homes throughout Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, with another especially notable project a home in St Michaels, St Albans.

Public Buildings and Partnerships

• Rebuilt sections of a flint and brick boundary wall at Luton Hoo, value £60K, and fashioned roof conversion work at Praewood House on the Gorhambury Estate, St Albans, value £65K, both for Strutt and Parker, Land Agents, St Albans.
• Refurbished four toilet blocks at St Albans Girls School for the Hertfordshire County Council, value £50K.
• Constructed an extension of the Court Theatre in Tring, value £70K, in 2007.
• The reroofing of Delrow House, Aldenham for the Camphill Village Trust , value £270k.
• Completed a disabled initiative project for Queens School Bushy, value £180K.

Controlled and Sensitive Environments

• C&S Dumpleton Ltd are used to working in controlled environments such as banks, building societies, police stations and schools.
• We have completed projects in many sensitive areas such as homes for the elderly, PSA offices, retail premises with concerns such as shoplifting, and private dwellings.
